✄ Simple Yet Sweet

the Ruby Bag

the Ruby Bag

Many characteristics cause me to instantly think “WOW” when I am looking at a bag.  One of the top influences is the *shape*.  As you may have realized if you’ve been reading this blog for a while is that I love a nice clean smooth shape.  The bag does not have to be symmetrical, nor does it have to be perfect in the way it is constructed to demonstrate the pattern or tutorial.  Lord knows that *I* am definitely not a professional bag-maker or a pattern designer at all.  I just love nice clean definitive lines.  So be it.  Anyway, when I saw the Ruby Bag, I fell in love with it for the above reasons.  Although the fabric used to display the bag and pattern is busy, it is gorgeous and I love the way that the print accentuates the center of the bags.    Two thumbs up for Ruby!

The Greyling tablet case caught my eye because of the curves within the pattern.  Again, those nice clean lines!  The free tutorial allows you to practice, if you have not already perfected, several sewing skills that are definitely helpful when bag-making.  luvinthemommyhood “did good”!

The free pleated Peek-a-boo Chevron Bag tutorial is staggered over several pages, but is a professionally written tutorial that will show you how to make a  very classy and trendy bag…

Last but *not* least is the Bobbling Along Aran Tote free pdf crochet pattern.  I do not crochet, I will not even try to sound knowledgeable in any way (lol) about crochet patterns but the bag is so nice looking, I could not resist.  If you crochet, please check it out.  It is designed by Celeste Young Designs, and from what I read, she is incredibly talented, and bright.
