  • Corset Appliqued Travel Storage Bag – Pattern

    Corset Appliqued travel Storage Bag

This is a really cute and very practical quilted and appliqued bag. It has four pockets inside and a zip closure. You can use it for makeup, shampoo, conditioner, shower gel, cream and other miscellaneous things.  It appears to be without a strap or handles, however, you could certainly always add one.

  • The Genevieve Bag – A Pattern Review

The Genevieve Pattern - A ReviewChristine Welsh seemed to have thought of everything when designing this pattern. From fabric suggestions, to tools to use during construction. I also really appreciated the added bag-making tips and tutorials provided to help those of us who could use extra help. The pattern instructions do not presume you already know how to do it all.  Photos of the suggested tools, and hardware helps you to name them all.  The steps required to make the bag  are detailed, however, they are not complicated.  Chris included instructions for prep work and cutting out too.  Many patterns miss the mark there.  This pattern provides three different versions and styles that are also color-coding to help you to end any confusion while you follow along.  What a clever idea!  Many commercial pattern designers could take a lesson or two from Christine.  There are truly so many ways that this pattern reads easier to follow, I really can’t mention them all here.

If you’ve ever tried to follow a pattern, and had to stop and question the instructions, diagrams, or the order of construction, you will appreciate the detail and hard work that has gone into the Genevieve pattern.

A few quick facts about the bag itself:
