The Free Shoppers Fancy Tote Sewing Pattern

Double-faced, quilted fabric is the backdrop for contrasting divided pockets and the bottom panel on the outside of this pretty tote.   Use it for round-the-town shopping or as a roomy carry-on for your travel essentials.  Also see Jo-Lydia’s Attic’s beautiful designer Bucket Bag!

Barbara Weiland Talbert is a published sewing and quilting author with several books and hundreds of magazine articles to her credit. Her most recent books are The Quilting Answer Book and The Sewing Answer Book, both published by Storey Publishing. Barbara learned to sew at the knees of her grandmothers, great grandmother, and mother when just seven or eight years old and she’s been sewing ever since. She added quilting to her repertoire in the 1980′s while working as Editor-in-Chief for a major quilt-book publisher. Now she designs tote bags, quilts, and anything else that strikes her fancy—and turns them into patterns to sell online. You can visit her blog (www.joyofsewingandquilting.blogspot.com) to find out what else she might be up to, although designing and writing patterns takes up most of her time these days.

Submitted by JulieCC:  “Free Shopper’s Fancy Tote Pattern” from Jo-Lynda’s Attic  – I didn’t like how large the outer pockets ended up being – there’s not enough of the quilted fabric showing, IMO. So next time I’ll make those smaller.  I divided them into one two-part pocket and one three-part pocket. I was so proud, too – I sewed a zipper!!   I do like the zippered inside pocket!  One thing I might change is to make a milk carton box bottom, also.

The website is outrageous. Love it. But I’m having a problem understanding where to go for what. :)

How do you get the pattern for the shopper’s fancy tote? Does it have to come via mail or can it be down-loaded?
